What is meant for you is meant for you

Querida Amiga,

iFeliz Año Nuevo! I hope that you were able to end 2020 with rest and love.

I unplugged and spent 10 days with my family. I wore a variety of loungewear, binged TV shows and movies, played games, and slept without an alarm. While it was lovely, it took a couple of days for me to settle into it.

Our cultural norm of constantly being in motion to justify our existence is hella strong.

I was worried that if I wasn’t posting on social media people would forget about me or start unfollowing. I worried that if I did not respond to emails about consulting opportunities they would be gone by January. I worried about maximizing my time off of work to create new programming.

At the root of my worry was that if I was not working I was not relevant anymore.

My family is a long lineage of hard working people who sacrificed physically, mentally, and emotionally for their survival and ultimately mine. So much of our identity has been tied to our ability to work hard. I don’t blame them for that mindset. It comes from centuries of living in oppressive systems that value our labor over our humanity. I am doing my part to make sure that mindset in our lineage begins to break with me.

That begins with believing I am enough because I was created by the universe to simply exist. When I tap into my passions and gifts and live in purpose, that is the cherry on top. I am blessed from purpose-driven living to have joy and love. I am not blessed simply because I produce.

The mantra that shifted my mindset, calmed me, and finally got me to settle into rest was “What is meant for me is meant for me.”

This mantra means the universe is already in motion bringing possibilities to us that will lead to us living the life meant for us. The only way we can block our blessings is by not following our intuition. What my intuition was telling me I needed was rest and time to enjoy a season of joy with my family.

Rest provides us the clarity and energy we need to receive the possibilities meant for us.

I am so glad I listened to myself and not the outward expectations that our society and learned behaviors have placed on me. My physical, emotional, and mental well being is now in a better place to ease into the new year with a clear mind and a sense of possibility.

I am in a better place to receive the love and joy I am meant to have.

Amiga, I am in a better place to love and serve you. May we grow in our  relationship with one another this year.

Quiero saber de ti.  What is meant for you in 2021? What will you receive when you listen to your intuition about what is needed to get there?

Un Abrazo,

Michelle
